Mic is works, clean and clear, not sure if this is noise canceling, it does have a pop filter. The mic is pretty excellent as well, it doesn't sound very compressed at all, although it does lose a little noise cancellation ability to achieve this, just doesn't have a fan blowing right at you. My main heatset were the Astro A50 Gen3's, my volume dial is starting to act up and my headphoness are almost 2 years old, while very comfortable, top 3 as far as comfort, it had loosened overtime.
